Satura Apologia Today
The Local Bookshop – A strange scene unfolded as LDS prophet Joseph Smith was seen offering a one-hundred-dollar bill to a Bible on the shelf. “One hundred bucks to stick me in.” Smith was overheard muttering to the Bible in a low voice.
When asked by the bookstore owner why he was trying to bribe an inanimate object, Smith explained that he needed to be able to substantiate allegations of corruption. “Susception to bribery is one of the telltale signs of corruption.” Joseph Smith explained to the confused owner. “When this Bible is found taking a Bribe, I can prove it has been corrupted!”
At publishing time, Joseph Smith told the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that every single verse of the Bible was corrupt, except for the one verse that actually accepted his bribe and is now about him.
