Carthage Illinois – In a long-anticipated meeting, Joseph Smith finally met Charles Taze Russell for the first time. Their conversation will range from their expertise’s in Greek and Reformed Egyptian respectively, as well as extensive discussion of the Trinity according to sources familiar with the matter.

            Everything got off to a good start, until a misunderstanding arose in regard to Charles Taze Russell’s very own New World Translation of the Bible.

            “New World Translation?” Joseph Smith said, a look of abject confusion coming over the prophet’s face. And that was when the lightbulb went off in Smith’s head. “Oh, you mean the Bible Jesus translated from the Indians when he visited North America!” Russell just stared at Joseph Smith for a moment. “Oh, surely you remember.” Smith went on. How can you possibly forget that time that Jesus showed up in war paint?”

            Russell patiently explained that the New World Translation had nothing to do with Jesus at all, and all correct translations were purely coincidental. “You see, the New World Translation is my translation.” Russell said with a grin.
