Satura Apologia Today
Historical Note: The Council of Nicaea was one of the first Christian Councils. The Council debated the nature of Jesus. Arius presented a heretical position and Athanasius led the group that presented the orthodox position.
Nicaea – Groundbreaking news as the reports say deliberations at Nicaea got heated. The plans to debate Arianism and any other Trinitarian heresy were put off until the next council when brilliant Christians wearing funny robes gets together. Instead of debating what was historically debated i.e., the nature of the Son and Trinitarian doctrine, the council instead decided whether to take Muhammad, or any other false prophet out of the Bible.
Athanasius, renowned defender of Trinitarian orthodoxy took the floor to lay out his case for taking Muhammad out of the Bible. “Listen, if we do not take the warnings about false prophets out of our inspired scripture, any false prophet can truthfully make the case he is in the Bible. We wouldn’t want that would we?”
Arius, renowned Trinitarian heretic argued against that course of action reminding everybody that should the Council denounce him as a heretic, he could claim he was found in the Bible. Ultimately Athanasius won the day, and contrary to what history shows, the council of Nicaea took the warnings about false prophets out of the Bible.
Fast forward a couple hundred years, this decision has been a mixed victory for Islam. On one hand, they have been proved correct that Muhammad was taken out of the Bible, on the other hand, Muhammad could only be found in passages that talked about false prophets. As of publishing time, this Islamic dilemma had not been solved.
