Satura Apologia Today

A Very Dusty Desert – Well, this is something you don’t see every day! The ancient Israelites have finally seen the error of their ways and admitted it. “Turn from your fears!” Moses admonished the future people of Israel. “This covenant we are in is nothing to be afraid of because we are friends with Jesus.”

To symbolize this new approach to the God of scripture, Moses announced the first annual sing along of ‘What a Friend we Have in Jesus.’ “Come on people, sing!” Moses roared!

What a friend we have in Jesus

All our sins and griefs to bear

And what a privilege to carry

            Everything to God in prayer

“God is my friend.” A thrilled Aaron declared. “I can approach him any time I want! Just like my sons, Nadab and Abihu did.” A sullen expression crossed Aaron’s face. “Oops, never mind.”

Aaron’s sons could not be reached for comment.

Beyond the Satire: Wondering how to reconcile the “loving” God of the New Testament with the “angry” God of the Old Testament. Check out ‘Is God a Moral Monster?’ by Paul Copan. The book does a fantastic job of explaining the God of both old and New Testaments.
