Kent – On his deathbed, the famous author of Origin of Species, Charles Darwin enunciated perhaps some of the most devastating critiques of the Bible that have ever been leveled against the holy book.
“The Bible flatly states that the earth is flat!” Darwin ranted. “See, look here, chapter three verse four of 2nd Daniel, Jesus clearly says ‘Truly, Truly I say to you, this earth upon which you currently stand is as flat as a pancake. But blessed is the one who sets his feet upon the round rock which is the LORD his God.’” Charles Darwin went on to exegete that passage for friends and family. “Obviously, this passage means that the earth is flat whereas Jesus is round.”
In his continued rant, Darwin debunked other dubious claims in 2nd Daniel such as its definition of an isotope as an “atom isolated on a tope” or its claim that Zebras have wings.
