Pittsburgh Pennsylvania – Charles Taze Russel recently walked back statements that alleged that Jehovah was the true name of God. “It’s actually pronounced Rassilon.” Pastor Russell told supporters and critics alike. “Repeat after me, Rassilon.” The JW founder enunciated. Russell encouraged JW’s to watch the BBC science fiction show Doctor Who to be sure they said every syllable of the divine name correctly.

“Rassilon was removed from standard Bibles in 1983 when he became a prominent character in Doctor Who.” When asked who in the evangelical Church was responsible for the name Rassilon’s removal from the Bible, Pastor Russell gave the obvious answer. “Well, it’s the apostle Paul. Nobody is more likely to be corrupting scripture in 1983 than Paul.”
