Beyond the Satire Note: Richard Dawkins once said “We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.”

Oxford England – In a development no one saw coming, atheist author Richard Dawkins announced on Twitter his intention to become a vegetarian.

“We’re all vegetarians about some meats, some of us just go one cow further.” Richard Dawkins posted in defense of his decision. “Besides, I have always wanted to try out a diet of strictly lettuce and tomatoes.”

When asked if he too would become a vegetarian, atheist Christopher Hitchens replied, “I will not become a vegetarian. That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. Richard Dawkins has given no evidence that it is reasonable to give up all meats just because we have given up some, so why should I give up my juicy steaks?”

Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens did not respond to our request for comment.
