Salt Lake City, Utah – The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-Day Saints announced that they would support the ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ without even reading to the end of it.

“All that legal language makes me snore.” LDS Senator Mitt Romney said. “I am sure that polygamy is in there somewhere. So, let’s get this baby passed!”

“What the heck?” Joseph Smith said upon reading the bill. “Didn’t Senator Mitt Romney even read the bill before he backed it? It wasn’t like it was written in Egyptian or anything.” Smith then urged the second President of the LDS Church Brigham Young to launch a campaign for senator and defeat the less than astute Romney.

Meanwhile, Joseph Smith announced that a modified “Respect for Polygamy Act” would be his first priority when he runs for President again in 2024. Smith’s first failed Presidential campaign was in 1844.
