Satura Apologia Today
Beyond the Satire Note: Isn’t it interesting how many atheists today like to argue from “scientific consensus?” As G.K. Chesterton once said, “fallacies do not cease to be fallacies when they become fashions.”
London England – In a surprise move, the British Humanist Association condemned seventeenth century scientist Galileo Galilei for not following the science.
“There is nothing more important than the consensus of experts when it comes to doing science.” President Adam Rutherford explained. “Galileo refused to follow the science that the experts of the time taught. We here at the British Humanist’s Association hereby disassociate ourselves from Mr. Galilei.”
“Any theory that goes against the scientific mainstream is pseudoscience.” A spokesman for the British Humanist Association said in a statement. “Mr. Galilei’s Heliocentric models were radical fringe ideas that were not taken seriously by the vast majority of scientists of his day.” The statement went on to say. “Pseudoscientific ideas are harmful and can have dangerous consequences such as heliocentrism taught in schools.”
In related news, the British Humanist Society also affirmed a young earth over the weekend, citing almost six thousand years of expert consensus. President Rutherford did not reply immediately to our request for comment.
