Satura Apologia Today

Somewhere Between the Damascus Road and Heaven – “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me.” Jesus asked Saul, as Saul fell off his horse with an unceremonious thud.

Saul had been traveling down the Damascus Road to go persecute more Christians. At least that had been his plan, until a blinding light appeared from Heaven.

“Who are you lord?” Saul asked, rubbing his backside, which hurt from the fall.

“I am Jesus the one you are persecuting.” Jesus replied. “But get up and go into the city, and there you will be told what you must do.”

“No.” Saul replied. “I will not go into the city, and I will not follow you. I have free will, so I am free to reject you.” Saul knew he spoke the truth the minute the blinding light disappeared, and Jesus returned to Heaven.

Up above Damascus Road, Jesus was reconsidering his eternal plan. “Whoops!” Said the Almighty. “Saul was right, he is free to reject me, now all my carefully laid plans from eternity past will not be fulfilled. What do I do now?”
