Satura Apologia Today
Beyond the Satire: Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the Holy Spirit to be an impersonal force. You can check out more about JW beliefs here. https://carm.org/jehovahs-witnesses/jehovahs-witness-beliefs-jesus/
A theology far, far, away from reality – Local Star Wars fan and devout Jehovah’s Witness Lukas Groundwalker was more than a little bit confused when JW founder Charles Taze Russell declared “may the force be with you, son!”
Groundwalker told Satura Apologia Today that he was on his way to Walmart when he bumped into Russel. It was after that uncomfortable invasion of personal space that Russell gave Groundwalker Obi Wan Kenobi’s typical greeting.
“Oops!” Russell declared. “I meant to say, may the Holy Spirit be with you.” Russell looked sheepish. “Sorry, I am a Star Wars fan. And the force always seemed way cooler than the holy ghost.”
We reached out to the watchtower organization for comment, and it was confirmed that Charles Taze Russell did indeed get his understanding of the Holy Spirit by watching Star Wars.
In related news, Joseph Smith assured JW’s that taking theology from science fiction was not a problem and was in fact divinely inspired. https://rocksolidapologia.com/?p=582
