Satura Apologia Today
Beyond the Satire Note: In Acts 14 Paul and Barnabas were mistaken for Gods after performing miracles.
Carthage Illinois – Joseph Smith’s latest sermon on man’s ability to become God was interrupted by a heavenly visitation. During Smith's sermon, Paul and Barnabas just happened by the LDS temple and healed a lame man sitting on the temple steps.
At that moment, Joseph Smith knew that Heavenly Father and Jesus were paying him another visit. Barnabas, he declared was Heavenly Father, while Paul was called Jesus. “These dudes look exactly like the men that showed up in my backyard!” Joseph Smith excitedly told the congregation.
When Paul and Barnabas heard this, they started tearing their clothes much to the dismay of Joseph Smith’s wives, as they rushed into the temple.
At publishing time, Paul and Barnabas had convinced the assembled Latter-Day Saints that they were not Gods, and at least half the congregation converted to Christianity.
